Hyperliquid is set to activate its HIP-3 upgrade today, enabling the permissionless creation of perpetual futures markets. The upgrade, announced in the protocol's Discord channel, will allow developers to deploy perpetual contracts on Hyperliquid's platform by meeting on-chain requirements. This marks a significant step towards decentralizing the perpetual contract listing process. The HIP-3 upgrade will permit deployers to launch a decentralized exchange for perpetual contracts on HyperCore by staking 500,000 HYPE tokens. The integration with HyperEVM will facilitate smart contracts and governance, while incorporating safeguards like validator slashing and position limits to ensure security and stability.
