Arkham analyst Emmett Galic has suggested that the U.S. government may have been involved in the hack of the LuBian.com mining farm. This claim arises amid reports that the U.S. Department of Justice controls approximately 127,271 bitcoins, valued at around $14 billion, which were allegedly stolen from LuBian in 2020. The DOJ has not disclosed how these bitcoins were acquired. Cryptographic detective ZachXBT highlighted that the addresses linked to these bitcoins were previously identified as having private key vulnerabilities by Milky Sad two years ago. If the U.S. government's involvement is confirmed, it could position them as a major player in financial hacking history.
