China Proposes Amendments to Cybersecurity Law to Enhance Legal Responsibilities

China is set to amend its Cybersecurity Law to bolster legal responsibilities, as reported by Xinhua News Agency. The draft amendment was submitted to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress for its first review on September 8th. This revision aims to address specific issues by strengthening legal responsibilities in cybersecurity, ensuring alignment with related laws such as the Data Security Law and the Personal Information Protection Law. The proposed changes also aim to categorize and scientifically define legal responsibilities for various violations, including network operation and information security.
