PancakeSwap's community is discussing a governance proposal to reduce the maximum supply of CAKE tokens from 450 million to 400 million, a decrease of 50 million tokens. The team believes that with the ecosystem growth fund having accumulated approximately 3.5 million CAKE to support growth, and the improbability of returning to an inflationary state, lowering the cap to 400 million will suffice for future needs. This adjustment also retains a buffer of about 50 million tokens to address unforeseen circumstances.
