Cardano's USDCx Initiative Aims for Direct Withdrawals, Avoids Bridges

News Flash 2026-03-07 23:46

Cardano's Input Output Group has clarified its vision for the USDCx stablecoin infrastructure, emphasizing direct withdrawals to Cardano without using bridges. USDCx, a Cardano-native asset, is fully backed 1:1 by USDC held in Circle's xReserve smart contract. This integration allows users to engage with DeFi liquidity, lending, and real-world asset settlement on Cardano. The infrastructure, developed in collaboration with Circle, enables users to deposit USDC into the xReserve smart contract on Ethereum and mint USDCx on Cardano. It also supports direct deposits and withdrawals of USDCx on centralized exchanges, bypassing Ethereum interactions. Input Output Group highlighted that USDCx is a long-term upgrade to Cardano's financial ecosystem, aiming to enhance adoption and infrastructure advancement.
