He emphasized the potential risk to the Bitcoin network's security, especially with the looming threat of quantum computing, as miners halt upgrades and equipment purchases. In contrast, Blockstream CEO Adam Back argued that this shift could benefit miners. He suggested that a reduced network hash rate would increase mining profitability, creating an arbitrage opportunity that balances mining and AI workloads. Back noted that higher profit margins could lead miners to sell less Bitcoin to cover costs, potentially driving up Bitcoin's price and further enhancing profitability.
