Google has introduced the Fitbit Air, a screenless health tracking band priced at $99.99, available for pre-order now and officially launching on May 26. The lightweight device, weighing just 5.2 grams, is designed for continuous wear and tracks various health metrics including heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and sleep stages. It offers up to 7 days of battery life and features fast charging capabilities. The Fitbit Air is water-resistant up to 50 meters and compatible with Android 11+ and iOS 16.4+ devices. Coinciding with the launch, Google announced that the Fitbit app will transition to the Google Health app on May 19, integrating data from various sources into a unified interface. The Gemini-powered Google Health Coach, which provides personalized health recommendations, is also officially launching out of beta. The service is included with a Google Health Premium subscription, priced at $9.99 per month or $99 annually. Each Fitbit Air purchase includes a complimentary 3-month subscription. Google emphasizes that user health data will not be used for advertising purposes.
